Ronaldo scored goals last season in a vastly different team, and none of us had heard of Weghorst.

Yes Jesper

Schneiderlin bigger? Falcao bigger?

Maybe with Erik’s recruitment team we can do better but until we get these absolute leeches out, can we trust them to do anything that would benefit the club and not themselves?

That aside, there’s no reason why we can’t “think bigger” (acting bigger is another matter) and still keep the big man. You look at some of the dross we’ve kept for years that have contributed next to nothing and Martial, for all his talent contributes next to nothing, so even if we get a top striker in, there’s still plenty of room for WW. Doesn’t matter whether you label him a striker, mf or anything in between, he makes a valid contribution. He is not stopping us bringing in a top striker. The Glazers are.

Martial btw, 184 appearances in 8 years

We can expect a goal from Martial in about 14% of our games. Even if he bothered to turn up, he’d be worth 7 p/season

I reckon Weggy can do better than that

I'm thinking Kane or Osimhen up front. Bellingham or Madison in midfield. Get 1 of the 2 in either position, plus a right back, I could see a genuine title challenge.

Its no from me but I don't dislike him and respect the job he's done.

Fair enough but I think Bellingham will be priced out of the market, esp as Dortmund want to keep him another year and Kane?… wouldn’t object but think he’ll come at a prohibitive price, as Levy doesn’t want to sell to a PL club. GNev gobbing off doesn’t help. No idea if FDJ is feasible but Erik would obviously prioritise him, which leaves the Napoli lad and they’re talking silly money. In the end it going to depend on who the owners will be. But yep, any two of those would put us close to a title

He's obviously going to be on the cheap. He'd probably pay out the Burnley contract himself tbh

I like him, definitely worth a place in the squad with what I've seen so far

If it's a choice of him or getting a top class striker in then obviously no.

If he kicks on from here and starts getting a bit better with his finishing, I think there’s a good case for him being here next season.

If he doesn’t, and it’s 9/10 games until he next puts one away, then it really becomes a struggle to justify, even given his massive contributions in other areas.

No fence sitting, just gallop towards the answer.

Horst power or no.
Made himself available, which is more than the French coward.
