Correct.

The biggest boost to personnel would've been to bring him back as number 2 with the promise of being able to have first crack at the job when Fergie hangs up his chuddy for the final time.

Relegate Phelan to Car Park Attendant ..where he can still put out his cones each morning.

And, have made Pirlo an offer he couldn't refuse.

Then, with his powder still dry he could've utilised the full "warchest" on Schneider..

ok, the bloke was asking for too much.. well, if he was the best available for the position that it's glaringly obvious we need to fill, then it's obvious we're going to have shell out big time for him.

After all, what's the point in cutting our noses off to spite our face and quibling over a mill or two..

heaven forbid, we wouldn't want our penny pinching to come back and bite us on the arse by losing out to City on mere goal difference !

Is that £#%&!ing right? They've only paid back £85m of the £500m and have pissed away almost as the much as the initial loan in interest and bank charges only?
That's is absolutely £#%&!ing soul destroying.

They are going to preside over the slow death of this empire that Fergie has spent nearly 30 years building.

There shouldn't be "transition" at this club. We make more money than every other football club in the world and we would be more than capable of replacing quality with proven quality were we not hemorrhaging cash every year.

It's heartbreaking. I know it doesn't always work that way, but I think we could only have been stronger had Fergie been able to spend that £500 million. Yeah, he would wasted some of it, but I bet we'd have a quality midfielder or two (i.e. Toure, Essien, uh... Aquilani).

Too many people didn't give a £#%&!, still don't.

Did the marches, flashmobs (I enjoyed the one on the Saturday in town), stuck what was then 2 weeks' wages into Shareholders United and was even on Stannage trying to spread the word. In terms of the percentage of our support that actually did such things it's embarrassing. If you did nothing to try and stop it from happening you deserve nothing more than what is happening to the club.
