There are issues that could be better. Guess what, there are issues with every single one of our players that could be improved and there’s a long list of other priorities imv.

And who do we get to replace him? Every keeper in the prem makes absolute howlers on the reg and every keeper that’s joined us has been utter shit. Did someone mention Pickford? Wtaf?

He’ll be phased out over the next 2-3 years I reckon but is nowhere near being a priority imo.
Bloody hell, standards among some United fans have really slipped

The fact that it seems to be the narrative that he’s had a great season is reason enough to point out he hasn’t at every opportunity.

It’s utter nonsense. We started the season losing 6-1 across 2 games and he was at fault for about 5 of them. The fact the defence improved massively after that has £#%&! all to do with him.

I have never understood this misguided loyalty to players who are no longer at the level required.

De Gea was fantastic…now he isn’t.

His contribution should be recognised but there should be no sentimentality when it comes to performance.

There aren’t stats for ‘good saves’ that more often than not would have been a goal.

He literally made one of the best saves of his career mid-week. He saves us against Wolves (and other games).

He’s no longer up there with the best in the world but it’s alright.

We have Wout Weghorst up front and people are talking about De Gea being the problem. Mental.

Let’s see….
Dunk loves an agenda tbf to him.

It’s not an agenda, it’s just the truth of the matter.

It needs repeating because halfwits think he’s doing a good job.

*great save to tip the shot over the bar at Palace.

Blindspot.

Maguire, Wan-Bissaka, van de Baek, Lindelof, Fred, The Scottish Player all get called out regularly.

Even new players like Sancho and Antony do.

But de Gea seems to be a blindspot for some because he used to a world class shot-stopper.

Literally a bottom 4 goalkeeper

21st best goalkeeper in the league for intercepting crosses there’s a sub keeper better than him. By every measurable statistic he is average, other than clean sheets, which can be attributed to all those in front of him more than him himself.

but of course, I’m wrong, he’s World Class, the least of our problems…

I use to think it’s an agenda but he really is our worst player yet he starts every game!

the fact that we now like to play out from the back, he not can’t do his own goalkeeper job properly but now disrupts the outfield players from starting a move.

every time the ball is crossed into the box you see him there not even pretending to go and collect it.

he is a really really bad keeper.

Fine to some degree but why not tip it around for a corner instead of the sixpence that is the Arsenal player’s foot?

Thought he was massively overrated at his peak with us but he has improved this season and our defence overall is much more solid, mainly thanks to the two beasts at cb. Would much rather focus on forwards and improving the middle of the park.

It wouldn’t be an agenda if you didn’t mention him throughout every single match thread 50 times regardless of his involvement.

United concede a corner - “that was de head fault”
United win a corner - “that would have been a goal if de Gea had passed it Shaw 23 minutes ago”
United score - “great goal!! We would never have scored that If de Gea had punched their attempt etc etc”

You did it with Mata and Matic, yet every single person who watched the game knew their weaknesses and commented on them every time they played they also appreciated the good things they did which you could never do. Yes you thought Welbeck was nailed on for a balon d’or and called us all stupid morons for not believing so.

I’d say that’s Shaw more than De Gea tbh

Not the shot stopper part… but then have we ever tried Luke in nets? He could the answer to our problems.
