I’d take Phill Mitchel over Fred these days.

Been put through the wringer by the sounds of it and had a terrible time with mental health problems. Hopefully now he’s fit he can get a move away from United and revive his career, but why he went through all that is beyond me tbh, get your coaching badges and retire? I m sure there’d be a job some where within United coaching the kids etc

Good article. Feel bad for him. Still shouldn't have extended his contract.

If you’re a millionaire and have mental health issues, surely you’d get them sorted before signing a new contract with one of the biggest lenders clubs in the world.

If you get paid a lot of money to do very little, you will have critics in any line of work.. especially football. It would have been better to answer critics on the pitch but that’s clearly not going to happen.

Agreed, seems like a bit of a @#%&!ish thing to say all things considered. Just shows how far detached they are from the real world IMO

1. I don't live with my mum. I have a wife and two kids.

2. I drink Coke Zero.

3. Someone has grown a voice after spending the past few years stealing a living and will continue to do so. I bet he is enjoying his life earning a couple of million a year doing £#%&! all.

4. I've rarely hammered Jones.

5. Super Noodles > Pot Noodles.

Other than that, spot on.

I think some of the stuff he’s probably read has got to him.

He’s probably fairly down to Earth off the pitch but you’re right, it makes him look detached for someone that’s been very fortunate in his career.

He's rattled to £#%&! as most of what has been said about him is true. It's not just keyboard warriors either - its fellow professionals and ex teammates who have called him out.

Reckon he’s aiming it more at Rio than you anyway, pal.

Be interesting to see how Rio responds to Phil calling him a tramp...
