I've gone for Cantona because of his influence on the class of 92 and all that which followed. As a pure Striker I would say RVN.

Michael Owen has a better goals per minute record at United than anyone on this list.

Totally depends on what you mean by the 'best'.

I'm gonna read it literally as the 'best striker' and that is obv Ruud van Nistelrooy.

If you were to choose any of those players and they had to finish a chance with your life depending on it - you are strapped to a gurney. Drip full of Windolene attached intravenously to your wrist. Richard Keys' hairy hands on the tap. Televised. Michael Owen on the panel begging for you to get put down.

A tough one, I loved Cole and his goals record in the PL is amazing considering he didn't take pens like most other strikers. Berbs was a favourite also and Sparky was my favourite growing up in the 80's. I'll probably go for Rooney though, never buzzed as much from someone's debut when he scored that hatty.

Yep, Rudd was an insane striker but Roons a better all rounder. most influential/transformative etc, by a country mile, Cantona.
