Depends. I’ve a sneaking suspicion land is cheaper and the capacity and level Everton are shopping at is a lot lower than what United would be looking at. The pertinent bit of that is that costs have risen by £260m since inception, as mentioned when estimating United’s potential costs, prices have gone mental.

I was all over Leicester going down, but that last day could go any way now. Reckon Leeds are down with their goal difference. But a draw won't be enough for Everton if Leicester grab a win against a WH team that surely will be resting players for that Euro final.

Costs last year were sky high - the absolutely wrong time to build a stadium. It’s settled down this year and it’s likely to get more competitive as the year goes on.

Land costs in Merseyside are currently about half that of Trafford park but it wouldn’t make a material difference to the costs. £1.2m an acre in TP and about £600k per acre at the docks. United bought the land years ago so it won’t stand them at those kind of levels anyway.

Basically, the £2b is utter bullshit unless they’re making it out of gold.
