The Glazers have taken out the club more than any other owner. Any new cash coming in from the ESL would have just gone in their pocket. Not needing to finish 4th would have meant maybe even less money for transfers.
We are doomed until we have new owners. Id take Ashley over them |

Unfortunately that ship has sailed and if we want to compete with the top clubs long-term then we're going to have to hold our noses when it comes to buyers. |

This affects plenty of clubs further down the leagues too, probably more so |

the premier league already has a fit and proper regime. strengthen it and enforce it. or adopt a german model. football has governing bodies. they need to be swept clean of corruption and they need to govern. the value of the clubs does not limit who can own them. it limits who can buy them under the current system. and that is a completely different thing. the value of the club is what fans are prepared to pay for streaming, scarves and the irl old trafford theatre of dreams experience. it should not be how much blood owners can squeeze out. nor should football's finances be distorted by rogue state blood money. you need to think bigger. or just think. you've got to start somewhere. |

jem you need to stop living in a fantasy world where everything is simple and turns up roses whenever you get a whim
live in reality where we are dealing with multi billion pound football clubs that you can't just one day change the rules of engagement for your benefit just because you want something to happen in your little rose colored world doesn't hold water as evident by the backlash the ESL received from everyone when they tried to make a dramatic change and use their imaginations albeit in a very greedy manner this isn't about imagination or determination....it's about the real state of affairs that English clubs but more so TV rights have created that has turned these clubs into businesses more so than football clubs |

the example of the backlash against the esl is actually completely undermining your argument, but you are too stupid to see it. players, fans, governments and governing bodies can do something. there is a government-led review of football's ownership structure in process, for what it's likely to be worth, but there is plenty more than can be done. the owners cannot simply do what they like. no matter how small you think your dick is. |

ahhh...the old personal attack when you can't put together a logical argument, very impressive.
you're too thick to understand that we are well past the point of having a german type of structure for clubs due to the sheer amount of money involved with these clubs, the owners, the tv rights, the commercialism. Can restrictions be put in place for future sales? absolutely but that itself will restrict who can purchase these clubs and isn't the entire point of this to get these current owners to sell?? Fans can protest, fans can march, fans can try to boycott but at the end of the day you're still going to see a full Old Trafford next fall because fans love football. The thing now is that these owners have gone a full year without game day revenue and are still surviving except for places like in germany who rely on game day sales to help fund the club unlike these big english clubs. so now instead we move to the government....so you would prefer the government step in and put down rules and regulations? Guess you're now advocating for a communist type of government controlled system. Maybe you should go support Chelsea if that is the case. |
