Amazing what can be done in one training session and probably a couple of video analysis sessions when you have a clear idea in how you want to play and communicate that clearly to the players

Completely different side

Our players making movements and actually asking for the ball.

Getting a headache from this stuff. Dont think we had players follow a coach instructions since about spring 2018.

the only instruction since then was to “go out and enjoy yourself”

the intent might be different, but our passing round the midfield is still absolute shite.

The whole style comes to a sudden halt when the front line can’t commit or produce the necessary goods. Ronaldo looks leggy as £#%&! and Rashford and Sancho have got to offer more. Even Fernandez has been a dead end in the final third.

I like the fact that telles crosses early. maybe when he has 20 yards of space ahead of him, it is not the obvious option.

As long as people keep mentioning it or replying to them

Good half all things considered and there were glimmers of what could be. A world class wide player would thrive in this side and we’ve apparently got some.

Promising - but Beeky for McScottish is the obvious sub.

It’s not gonna click overnight, but some encouraging signs:

Passing quicker
Closing better
Flexible formation

Still not able to sustain it for long spells, but much better control over the game and One of those spells again in the second half should produce something. Options on the bench too.

Really could have just done with that goal while on top. Don’t want us to start reverting to type the longer it goes on.
