Default Ragnick was right?

Got a lot of pelters on here but spoke a lot of sense in the end. Looking back ETH has gone down the same road as the others but the structure is still fundamentally wrong.

got pelters because he was put in charge of the team and it was awful.

don't think anyone disagreed with the thrust of what he said. especially the surgery not cosmetics bit and he got zero pelters for that.

Unfortunately most of the players bought are Erik's players. Literally.

We don't know how we got to where we are as no one knows enough about the mechanisms of recruitment in current set-up (e.g. were alternative targets identified but Erik ploughed on with his; was Erik unwittingly forced to drive recruitment as well as coaching due to absent structure; have we once again found ourselves being subjected to whims of agencies the club is working with etc.). But after this many signings, Casemiro aside this clearly is Erik's team now.

Hate how ETH blanked him.

Presume it’s a WW2 issue between the Dutch and the Germans.

He was right. A truth-teller when we were all still under the SAF spell.

Last minute winners and titles were ours by birthright.

Martial. The Scottish Player. Maguire.

The spineless spine of our team.

All still with us.

We owe him a huge apology.

Of course he was £#%&!ing right.

That's why he was jettisoned out the door quick sharp because he was making "head of football development" Murtough look bad by pointing out what a £#%&!ing shit job he was doing.

Yeah it was definitely that and not the utterly abysmal results he was producing, next to Ted Lasso on the bench and the other guy in his AirPods.

Good point. We can blame Erik for signing so many players he’s worked with but what choice did he have with no support.

I think most agreed Ralf wasn’t a great manger even before he joined us but he was the right pick to restructure how we recruit players. Clearly too sensible a road for the club to go down.

If as is rumoured Erik insisted no Ralf, then that’s a shame, seeing a we didn’t employ anyone else in that role.

Agreed. Rangnick clearly should have never been manager; in terms of his profile and track record, few would stand out as having been a better fit for overseeing refresh of recruitment. Very strange how it all went down.

Well he's not a manager is he. So that'll probably be why.

Also 'abysmal results' and manchester united are something that goes hand in hand long before and long after Ragnick.

Put simply he was saying things that ruffled the feathers of the useful idiots like Murtough and got the boot. Can't have people at manchester united talking about revolution, god forbid.

While he generally said the right things I think his credibility got shot. Not just due to results which the title of being "interim manager" helped cause (i.e. players did not respect him given he was just keeping the seat warm for a few months), but also because he would identify the problems among the squad in press conferences midweek only to put the same players out at the weekend. He more than anyone else after Ferguson had the chance to directly send a message by dropping big names on lots of money, putting in youth players, experiment a bit and not worry about losing his job if the results were poor.

He gave as much insight as someone walking into a burning house and telling the owners they're going to need to do some redecorating. And then stood there for a bit and watched it burn down some more.

Said what the fans suspected but wasn’t being said from inside, that’s the difference.

The club has little time for the status quo being challenged, Mourinho and Rangnik are both pretty solid evidence of this.

We still haven't appointed the director of football that we were told was going to be appointed when Ole was caretaker. Sure, we've had people in that role, but we should have been appointed top ten in the world level DoF's, not Glazer lapdogs or raffle winners.

Bet Erik wishes he took that call now.

Big Raggers should have been made DoF
