All of the above happened after fergie won the title, so not sure how it helped him get lucky. And united didn’t really have a financial advantage over others when he was building a team 86-93.
United had a 58k capacity when he took over in 86, which was gradually reduced due to hillsborough. Then the redevelopment into all seater after the Taylor report took it to 44k and then 55k around 1996.
To suggest Fergie was lucky due to the foreigner rule is a little weird, considering it stopped him playing his best team until the rule was abolished. How lucky he was to have to drop players like schmeichel against Barcelona.

The quality of european teams was far higher in the 90s than it is now, and the league was stronger ten years ago compared to now. Everyone outside city and liverpool aren’t that great, in England and Europe.
