If a state doesn't come in and buy them/us, who will? Ineos obviously expressed an interest but it's hard to see them actually ponying up for us when the Glazers want £6b for a 'business' that needs around £1b spent on stadium, training facilities etc...
We are possibly the biggest sporting brand in the world but how much can that really make us worth when operational costs are contiuning to spiral out of control and there's no end in sight as states will continue to plough money into our rivals.

Glazers will have to accept £4bn (boohoo, not bad considering they've invested none of their own money in the club though).
Back at the end of the 80s, I think there were only us and the two Glasgow clubs in the UK who were turning a profit. With the commercial channels we have and support we do, the club is sustainable to save sportwashing levels of investment in the team. It's one thing that makes us more appealing than most clubs.
