During the day if the weathers decent, Big Chill house is pretty good big roof terrace (couple of minutes walk from Kings Cross), same for Canal125

If it's just a day long piss up, you might as well start at the bottom of Upper St and make your way to the other end (via the old queens head on Essex Road)

Old China Hand is a decent place. Independent ale/lager for a decent price, no @#%&!s, nice interior etc
