We *have* to start playing decent away from home eventually. It would be nice if it was this season, mind

usual title-winning range of 84 to 88pts is down this season to more like 81 to 85pts

i'd guess 83pts will do it and i don't really care how many of those points are from which team or where, although avoiding defeat at arsenal would seem to be a key aim

based on the usual formula, there's 7 wins and 5 draws (inc. wham, or one other) for united in the run-in, and that adds up to 83pts.

Arsenals remaining fixtures. They have one less away game then United to play.

it's a tried and tested formula, guessed down over many seasons

only two sides have any real chance of finishing on 83pts or above this season, and it just so happens that the revised target of 7 wins and 5 draws equals 26pts + 57pts which is 83. it doesn't matter how those 26pts are gathered, as i said. so 8 wins and 2 losses would be perfectly fine. course, one of the losses could do without beoing at the other team most likely to hit 83pts or above.

sorry if you've read that only to discover that it doesn't interest you.

If it goes down to the last day then they have a much harder fixture, especially if Spurs will (hopefully) be fighting for a Champion's League spot.

I wouldn't be surprised if they take maximum points from their next five fixtures and that could put them top considering who we're playing. That loss at Wolves is really looking bad now.

Knowing Arsenal they will surely £#%&! up somewhere though.

Closer look;

With Ferdinand

Sunderland - 0-0.

Terrible performance tbh. Not sure how we got a point. Clean sheet though.

Stoke - Won 2-1.
Goal: Tuncay cutting inside on Evra (IIRC), good finish.

City - 0-0.
Good defensive performance.

Villa - 2-2

Goals: Penalty, breakaway goal.

Birmingham 1-1
Goal: Cross from a free kick. Handball.

West Brom 2-1
Goal: Great strike from Morrison

Spurs 0-0

Without:

Fulham 2-2

Goals: Shot, header

Everton 3-3
Goals: 1 header, 1 from the result of a header

Bolton 2-2
Goals: Inability to defend a corner, deflected shot

Blackpool 2-2
Goals: inability to defend set pieces. 2 headers

Wolves 1-2
Goals: inability to defend set pices. 2 headers.

Obviously, not all our shite results can be attributed to Ferdinand being missing. But I pray ( ) that he can stay fit for a large part of this run-in. Otherwise, we'll probably be finishing second due to a lack of organisation in the back 4. It is alarming the number of headed goals we concede without him in the side.

You not watched any of our away games this season or something?

[DOOM]More than likely our hopes of 'number 19' will be all but over after these games are done.[/DOOM]
