If Henderson had been between the sticks all season, we'd be a lot closer to City imo. The point made above about the defence and midfield being able to play higher up the pitch due to Hendo being prepared to be a sweeper keeper is a huge one. Condensing the pitch in that manner would've got us closer to the forwards and helped the midfield on many occasions, it just wasn't possible with 2 slow af CB's and a keeper shit scard of leaving his 6 yard box.

This guy has got commanding presence and that spreads confidence which De Gea hasn't done for a long time. Peak De Gea was the best in the world and one of the best I've seen but it feels like things have reverted to what we were used to before him. Henderson looks more of a Van der Sar in reading the play and positioning himself right rather than reacting. That won't give him as impressive highlights videos but so long as he fulfills the job it won't matter. Being homegrown is fantastic too as it's very hard to find a top class keeper out there who isn't already at a big club.
