Thumbs down LvG to definitely retire in 2017

Quote:
Louis van Gaal says he may leave Manchester United at the end of his three-year contract to keep a "promise" to his wife.
Asked about extending his contract at Old Trafford, the Dutchman told BBC Sport that he intended to "give it up" at the end of his contract in 2017.
"I promised that to my wife. We have not many years together any more. That is the reason," said the 63-year-old.
"I have done everything in my career as a manager."
Asked about the possibility of extending his stay, Van Gaal said he could not answer because his wife, Truus, "is very mad".
"I have to admit I have said to her, when I met her and our relationship seemed to be very good, that at 55 years I shall quit. I am still working and next week I am 64.
"The only wish was the Premier League. Now I am here.
"So. I have to go to Qatar to earn still more money? I don't think so. You have to enjoy also your life and your relationship with your wife."
Still can't get excited at the thought of Giggs as manager.

He isn't

He said this in his interview yesterday

Quote:
IF THE UNITED BOARD CAME AND OFFERED YOU A NEW DEAL WOULD YOU TAKE IT?

You never know, you can never say: 'I go.' I have already said to my wife it might be that we extend in Manchester but normally I have said to my wife that after 55 years I quit. And I am still in business and in two weeks' time I will be 64!
Would seem to indicate to me that if things were going well and we were genuinely competing to win the league and European Cup then he would stay a year or two more

The board will fob Giggs off. Rest easy, he will not succeed LvG.

you've not quoted all of it.

There are already plans in place for Giggs to succeed LvG in 2017.

It's hardly a big secret.

That was before 'Woody' was born.

Wouldn't suprise me if Woody has his croonies march him off site when LvG walks away.

Big boy shit.

Remember Mourinho saying he would retire from football at 60. Now he says he wants the Portugal job at 70. Can see LvG being like him and Fergie and struggling to put it down. If he takes us where he wants to, it won't be easy to just walk away. Especially as he knows Giggsy will probably £#%&! it up

Here we go again, but that retirement in 2 years time, will hardly be as shocking as when Sir Alex retired.

This has been done to encourage Guardiola to take a year off before joining us in 2017

Unless you count Picasso, King Louis is no oil painting. Nonetheless, I'd be tempted to leave Morticia at home and crack on with some work.
