yes, but arguably to stop himself being kicked in the face. I mean... if the striker had actually made contact with the ball and scored... it would be harsh to see a sweet overhead kick ruled out for dangerous play, but still.... to give handball under the circumstance is a bit ridiculous also.

Tbf, the ball hitting the defenders elbow, long before his head would’ve arrived, prevented the striker from making contact, and the defender knew what the striker was doing so it his own fault if he’s putting himself in the way
