The days of a 'jack walker' seem quaint now don't they. A local businessman buying the club he supports and pumping money into it.

He'd be seen as small fry now, of course. What was he worth? £200m? That's £#%&!ing pocket change now to the owners knocking about.

It's kind of ironic that United spearheaded the great globalisation of the premier league, attracting all the attention with our exciting teams and players which in turn has ultimately brought in the likes of Abramovic, Abu Dhabi and now Saudi to buy teams that otherwise would never have been able to compete with us. Ultimately victims of our own success.

The single greatest asset the berties had was the word "Manchester" in their name
