I've just seen Van Der Sar

He was driving a Range Rover with the plate V7Der. Why is he in England and why has he still got a private plate? At first I thought he was doing a Scholesy but I can't work out why he still has a car over here with a private plate. Does he live in England now?

Probably still has a house here at the very least
And can't see having a 60k (or whatever) car being a huge headache financially given his career

Of course it's peanuts but the private plate indicates he will be here a while. He either got the plate when he was still at United, in which case why didn't he sell his car when he left, or has he just got it in which case, why does he think he'll be here a while.
