I think that some of these 'youngster' signings are just a way to make some money.
Get a young guy for almost nothing, pay him a pittance, put him through the academy, if he's outstanding, then fine, otherwise get rid to another english / european club for a million or two. It's not a bad business if you think about it, could maybe raise 20 or more million a year if we put the effort into it. |
