decent enough player but I was hoping he'd go to spurs. I suppose once 'arry ruled out Modric going anyway this was on the cards. In fact, cole practically said "I'm going to United in the summer" in his interview for the game v chelsea that he scored in.

At least this proves the money's there for the manager to spend like David Gill said.

tbf I think he's a decent player, but he's been injured for about 2 years.

I wonder if this is the 'big one' that Fergie was on about

He played 38 games last season... not terrible off the back of a harsh cruciate injury. Look how long Essien has been out & he's younger & a beast physically compared to Joey the heed Cole.

I'm happy enough for a good English, skillful lest we forget, player to join for knish. Bolsters the squad, minimal risk. He's 28 so still a number of years left in him & he's not reliant on pace.

Just as well as I work with a couple of Chelsea who go all the time. When I told them about this they said he's still good but has lost a yard of pace.

Hopefully Scott Parker will see United are building something special and want to join now that he sees this statement of intent.

Fingers crossed that Rooney doesn't see this and suddenly fancy a bit of sun with his pal in spain for a couple of seasons

Yep, just addressed the same concern in another thread.

If all the rumours are to be believed I can see Rooney being shipped out for £80mill or whatever & the money will go towards bringing Free transfers to the Club.

Starting line up on the opening day?

VDS

Evra
Rio
Evans
Nev

Sinclair
Butt
Cole
Parker
Nani
