Question This debt

Does anyone seriously believe that the dept brought in by the club is in anyway a danger or detrimental to the club?

fooking loves his footie chat does bellers

it's hard to believe that having to pay 70 odd million pounds per year just to pay off the debt interest isn't impacting on the ability to buy players. imo.

My real fear is what happens if/when the Americans sell us.

But they've got us a Japanese paint partner so it's a bit of give and take. I'll wait and see.

I think it would have some sort of impact but only if we didn't do well enough on the pitch because of the repayment thing. Last year we didn't do well in the Champions League and didn't win the League so wouldn't have made as much profit as the year before for example. But we are still making profits because the Glazers are chasing every single marketing deal they can to help the debt. I think it's why we didn't buy Sneijder in 2011, because we'd already bought Young for a lot and we have Cleverley so the club viewed it as we don't need him.

If someone can give me one reason it's affected what we do on the pitch I'll get this thread closed.

really?

if we didn't have to pay that money then it could be spent on other things, such as the team.

not sure where you're going with this, tbh? have you got an argument to counter what i've said?

I have.

£70m extra a season would not be spent on the team.

Hope this helps.

erm. we're chasing a treble with the team we've got and should have won the league last year?

Are you implying the squad isn't good enough or that we've not spent any money?

i'm not implying anything. i'm saying that we would defintely be more competitive in the transfer market if we weren't paying 70 odd million on interest payments to service a debt that in no way benefits the club.

i'm struggling to see how anybody can argue otherwise, tbh.

for which player? rvp who big bucks city were after? young and jones who we only signed to stop liverpool getting them?

Seeing as you're struggling with this one, answer me this:

Why have the protests against the glazers stopped?

because people are generally apathetic and can't see further than the end of their nose.
