Burnley v Manchester United - 8pm 23/09/23 - Official Match Thread

the game was very poor, we played more like 'burnley' than they did. Thankfully they're as toothless as they've been all season, but it's about time we played a team who have had a bad start, rather than the likes of Arsenal, Brighton, Spurs and Bayern who have all come flying out the traps.

You can tell confidence is on the floor and players aren't used to playing together yet but hopefully that'll come. A few times when we had the opportunity to carve them open and the final pass was messed up. Everyone looked a bit more sharp.

Evans was fantastic in defence tbh. That last 10 mins he was invaluable, he won absolutely everything in the air and his composure and calmness seemed to transfer across the entire back line.

Tbf, at least we had some valid excuses for a disjointed performance given we had a cl away game Wednesday and plenty walking wounded. The other games this season not so much…

it was great to see Varane back and Casemiro looks like he is coming back in to form plus Onana kept a clean sheet and pulled off a few saves. Plenty of positives
