What you having lads?

I've just prepared a veggie sunday dinner:

Carrots, roasties, sprouts, cauli, cabbage, peas

But instead of having like a normal sunday dinner, I will mash it all up and fry in butter with leek, onion, garlic, and chili, and maybe add egg and cheese like a sort of super bubble-n-squeak.

Already had a hangover cure kebab just now (lamb/chicken shawarma from Levenshulme Bakery with everything on including extra spicy potatoes - epic as always) but also having full roast later - total food coma incoming.

Because they’re shit and I’ve yet to find one in England that doesn’t do godawful roast potatoes. Bowls of them handed out in the pubs back home and they’re absolutely delightful.

It’s fantastic, they’ve just opened a new one in Edgeley as well. Well worth a visit. The mixed on Samoon is amazing.

Slight variation last time out. Parboiled but instead of drying in pan I stuck them in the air fryer for 7-8 minutes, seemed to dry them out more and made them crispier.

What potatoes do you use?

Agreed. The only time different was when we went out on boxing day and they wanted to get rid of excess stuff and piled our plates like we were their fat Italian grandchildren

Spuds and Yorkshire’s - aunt Bessie’s
Gravy - bisto

Made mash myself and veg is veg.

Actually made me rethink it. 2-3 hours plus fannying about for something that is only slightly better than the 30 minutes it took me to throw that together.
