Can't see Wayne Rooney ever going to play in Spain. I am sure he has, more than once, mentioned that playing abroad doesn't interest him. Especially seeing as he now has a child on the way. Then again, Barca is enough to make anyone's head turn. Very hypothetical though as there is no way Sir Alex Ferguson would even comtemplate considering it.

He'd regret not testing his skills in a different league. If fergies successor isn't up to scratch I can see Rooney calling time on his OT career.

Rooney's statements suggest he'd be happy playing his entire career at United. I don't see much reason to doubt him. Just an opinion mind.

Not all players think that way. I can think of an obvious one. Rooney is regularlly tested against spain's and europe's best. Playing Numancia and Malaga for the rest of the season is a pretty ho-hum pospect I'm sure.

2. if it was happening it couldn't happen until May, but with it being a world cup year most clubs want to see targets come through injury free, so why discuss it now

3. it would be arguably the biggest press frenzy transfer story yet...so why discuss it freely with people completely unrelated to club or player

4. he stated recently he was staying

5. why would barca be looking at this now after buying zlatan (that bit before was a little white lie, marls). he is going nowhere in jan
