Improved terms probably due to his rapid ascent to defenderdom.

must have been on (in United players' terms) a shit package, rewarded for his great first season.

JOS and Wes leaving in one go is all the credit Smalling needs imo but better wedge means he's part of SAF's long terms plans like we all thought

Oh super jags (in reality he pronounces it yag-ell-ka so the jags really doesn't work). He is probably a better centreback but at 2 and a half times the cost you expect that. I doubt he's as good a central midfielder as the jagmeister though.

Just getting giddy now aren't you? In his first season in the top flight for Sheff United, in a season they got relagated, playing in either defence or midfield super jags scored more goals than Owen Hargreaves and Chris Smalling have ever scored for United between them. He's not a world beater, he's just an all round good footballer that Everton got for an absolute song whilst we stumped up 17 million quid for a half canadian youtube cripple.

Jags did well in goal against Arsenal tbh. Maybe it's he's best position.

Love Smalling.

So rather than concentrate on the centre of our midfield we sign another Defender ...this time one from our own Club

Absolute madness.

Cheers Andy, I'd forgotten that one, he's a tip top keeper as well.

Also loving Smalling. When his signing was confirmed I was at a aloss as to why but last season he looked like a young Jaap Stam at the back.
