Ake was atrocious.

Grealish though is a head scratcher. He plays roughly the same position and offers roughly the same attributes as Sterling, but with much weaker stats. They also have Foden, who is again similar but imo better than both. Yes, he is younger than Sterling and clearly a very good footballer, but 100m for a player they simply don't need is looking as odd as Pep's head.

Feels like a ‘statement signing’ rather than one they actually need.

Kane is the one they actually need.

Agree. Kane is also as much for PR as anything. Son would actually make more sense in Guardiolas system. Said it on another thread but they’re jumped the shark with these two imo, they’re going against what’s worked for them to a degree.

Yep Son is more of a pep player - never stops running, can dribble and is a deadly finisher - he fits their "system" better than the more target man Kane

Messi would have made far more sense for them. Plenty of future cash away from the main football books for him, new fans for them and bigger revenues. Thank God they £#%&!ed it up.
