thinking back, we looked superb in the first couple of months of that season. no idea why jose decided to change to dull negative football for the remainder of it.

Liverpool away seemed to be the turning point ( 0-0 ) - we went there with a back six and sat back - nearly got a winner ( well at leaat a goal ahead ) seemed to set the template for the rest of the season

Just before that we looked shaky against Stoke (a) and I think that made up his mind we couldn’t go gung ho with the defenders we had.

Watching Smalling brought it all back. You can see why the big man was after Slabhead.
