Not as far as I am aware. It’s still a commonplace method of acquisition. Including people buying houses …..

It would be interesting to know the specific nature of their complaint

It’s looking that way. Even Wenger is saying the game is over, biggest clubs are now the ones with the wealthiest owners. History, fanbase, success, turnover etc. mean nothing. Which oligarch/state has the most disposable income

ESL for the win.

It’s the best argument for an esl that doesn’t involve shit clubs like Chelsea city PSG and Newcastle.

Anyway, it’s fooked and there’s no reverse mechanism. A fan owned model is by far the best route to saving the game but no one, including fans is that arsed.

Mad how all the human rights stuff has been conveniently overlooked about City and PSG's owners isn't it.

Wonder how long before City's chief cheerleader Martin Samuel starts batting his flabby eyelids in the direction of St James Park.

Oh well, not to sound negative but I really see this as the beginning of the end for United.

The Saudi's offer to buy Manchester United in 2019 was turned down by the Glazer's because Man U has become their primary cash cow to pay off their debts back in America.

(Their commercial real estate company has been swimming in debt since they got tied up with over leveraged mortgages with Leyman brothers back in the 2008 crash)

Smart move on the Premier Leagues part though!

They're transforming the league into the strongest in the world, and the American owners pushing for a super league just got kicked in the nuts.

Uh????

An odd, yet somewhat creative troll I've never encountered on a forum before......

I'm not sure how to respond to that other than if you evidence that the Glazer's lack of wealth will be able to compete with the new breed of super rich owners, by all means share it.

United will be fine, for now.

Arsenal, Spurs, Everton, Leicester etc. all dropped a further place down the pecking order, which really isn't right.

Right... and that's why clubs that can go out and buy a team ( Man City, Chelsea and PSG) are beginning to dominate European football.

United is only a wealthy club because its previous decades of success on the pitch turned it into a worldwide commercial powerhouse, when that success dries up, so to will the wealth.

you don't need success any more to be wealthy. The TV deals have seen to that.
