It's suspended because it's his first defence and classes as misdemeanors.

he only made comments "which did not imply diminished professionalism" on the part of the officers and only became angry after being hit on his golden leg, described as his "dominant" leg (ie: the only one that is any £#%&!ing use at all).

the only thing that has definitely been injected is an element of humour.

Think it's %@#$&!s to be honest. Initial reports were he was fighting with other English lads. Been out on the piss all day and night, got into a scrap, hit some coppers...it happens. Attempting to bribe them was probably what pissed them off the most.

As already stated, in several other countries he would be getting banged up for those offences - first time or not.

Just what I read in the mail:

Ioannis Paradissis, lawyer for two of the six policemen involved in the case told MailOnline that Maguire is a 'disgrace' and has 'invented a pack of lies and has not had the decency to apologise.'

Mr Paradissis said: 'He has insulted our police officers and he and his friends left three of them injured. They had to be taken to hospital and were brutally beaten by Maguire, his brother Joe and their friend.

'Maguire and his friends then invented a story about Albanians attacking his sister. I've never heard such rubbish. This was a shameful attempt to cover up their disgusting behaviour and an insult to Albanians and the Greek police.

'Maguire is a role model, he should hang his head in shame and return to Greece to apologise.'

They've had a trial without slabhead being there? Within a week of the event?

What I don't get is why come up with some weird #@&%! & bull story if it didn't have some truth to it. They must've known that the prosecution would throw the book at him and stick by their version of events no matter what.

If the prosecutions version of events are what actually happened, why not just come out and say that it was a stupid regrettable mistake, apologise profusely but say the bribery accusation is utter %@#$&!s. Meet them in the middle and everyone can get on with their lives.

100% there's something seriously dodgy about this.

Maybe for any civil element of the case? To support them if they got cross-examined etc??

Either way, it's not a good look for Harry. As WW said, he was no doubt leathered and on edge with the continued abuse he was getting from opposition fans. What happened next, maybe we'll never truly know. But the fact he was in that position in the first place wasn't very smart. Surely when you're a multi-millionaire football player known the world over, you plan your holidays/drinking sessions a little bit more carefully.

Disagree. Some of united's best captains were convicted criminals.

Personally, I'm with you and don't give a rat's arse. At the end of the day, he's a young man having a drink with his mates and shit happens. He's also a Utd player, our captain as you've said, and hope he stays it. However, the problem is more the context of the times we live in and (no doubt) the fact that he'll be slaughtered in the press (especially if they find any evidence that proves he's fed them bullshit, which I truly hope he hasn't).

Personally, I don't give a £#%&!, but the club will be need to be seen doing something.

I think he'll lose the captaincy and they might leave him out for a few weeks.
