I’d imagine it’s the branding, the concept, and the artwork that is the result of hard work and the investment of time and money. Why should these chancers be allowed to just waltz in and make off like bandits by merely copying it?

There will be all sorts of options to licence your tat through the club, at a cost, they either didn't fancy this or weren't offered it, so you are then presumably entering into the realms of trademark infringement / IP etc.
