Then director of football in the summer once he's had a good look at the squad.

McKenna should stay at the club in some capacity, but what’s carrick done to deserve to stay?

Yeah, the days when Rosenborg were a regular (and actually pretty decent) CL regular are some time back now.

Wow. Didn't consider that Ole was Pogba's old gaffer for the youth team. Respect already achieved. Game changer

love ole of course, we all do, but don't think he'd have been anyone's first choice. he couldn't keep cardiff up.

but at least if things don't get better, then it's only a temporary appointment. plus our league campaign is dead in the water and it's not even christmas yet, so we're at the stage where we have nothing to lose.

and if he actually does end up doing well here, then great. would love it if the man who scored the most iconic goal in the history of manchester united was the one who brought us back from the dead.

i guess the main thing is that ole is a figure that could instil united values into the gaggle of £#%&!wits we have in our squad. get them primed and ready for whoever the new permanent manager will be.

It's a superb appointment.

No pressure on him. A man who knows the club inside out. A lot of nostalgia. A player we all love. Fans will be behind him. Players will be behind him. Keeps the bench warm for Poch before going back to Molde having restored a bit of pride to the side.

Can't wait.

Ole did really well with our reserves and with Molde however from what I remember from his time at Cardiff he was brought in to bring an attractive style of football to a side that got promoted using long ball football
Changed too much too quickly and couldn’t get them to adapt to the new style and basically it turned into a disaster

Positive personality who the fans will get right behind and someone we know wants us to play football the right way
Shorts back as the right hand man to the manager which is a role he’s won league titles in

Sensible decision by the club for the rest of a right off season
You’re not going to get someone high profile to do the job for a few months
Gives us time to hopefully appoint a sporting director and then onto Poch in the summer
