This. Same with Shaw. They might okay again this season? Don’t bother. This season is £#%&!ed and we aren’t getting CL football or winning the FA Cup with or without them.

Half this squad is getting rushed back from injuries and the other half is playing with them.

Apparently Onana, Dalot, Bruno and Garnacho are the only players to not miss a game through injury this season.

It's nothing to do with training. We're suffering the same as pretty much every other team this season. Liverpool, Newcastle, Spurs, United, Chelsea, even City had 3 of their first choice back 4 missing at the weekend..

This is the predictable result of not giving players any down time and just running them into the ground for 12 months a year.

Since Covid postponed the season back in 2020 the players have been going all out with practically no break for 4 years. They came back and rushed to get the 2019/20 season finished, then went straight into the 2020/21 season with no time off. Summer of 21 we had the euros...then into the 21/22 season. Which in the summer of 22 we had the £#%&!ing nations league fixtures again, very little time off.... then we had to start the 22/23 season early to squeeze a £#%&!ing world cup into the middle of the season.

Quite simply the players are breaking down as a result of not allowing their bodies to recover properly and this insistence on playing high-intensity pressing football now which is the fashion.

I think Shaw has probably reached that stage where we can’t rely on him because of his injuries. It would be stupid to keep bringing Martinez back early and risk him going the same way.

Good thing he schlepped to Argentina’s national team camp. Done him the world of good.

23-24…just get in the £#%&!ing bin now, you @#%&! of a season.

People actually supported having a slow, manlet centre-back becuase of 'muh passion'.

Now - in keeping with his goblin genetics - he's also a permacripple.

lol, lmao even

Get rid. Love him but he's clearly injury prone. He will get injured time and again.

Maybe they just let him rehab the rest of the season/summer in hope he comes back next season.
Yeah feels harsh saying this but IF we bring on Kambwala instead maybe he stops the Toney cutback. Definitely feel we need to bring in a LCB who has similar attributes so we aren't so reliant

I said it a while ago.

he has been injured more than he has been available since joining.

there also much be a link to why players from the Dutch league always get injured when in the epl.

Malacia hasn’t even put on the new training kit that was released last May!

Spoke to my mate who works at Carrington, sniff of a chance he’s in the squad for the weekend

Seen a few things suggesting he’s somehow involved in the Quincy Promes case (as a witness). Not sure of the legitimacy and most likely made up BS…

Nice one, though a sign of how bad our injuries have been.

Does he know anything about Malacia?

judging by Martinez’s injury record he’s had significant down time

perhaps these rumours of over training are correct

The lack of a proper rest in summer is definitely a factor. No one with a vested interest would agree but some competitions need to go and others stripped right down but this won't happen. There's too much football anyway and 80% of it is total shit.

Manchester United's coaching staff believe their squad has too few vocal leaders and that the injured Lisandro Martínez has been sorely missed in that regard.

The defender has been unavailable for 37 of United’s 48 games this season owing to foot, knee and calf problems, including Monday’s humiliating 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace. The Guardian understands Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff have noticed how much quieter the changing room is in Martínez’s absence and believe this had been detrimental to performances and results.

Although Martínez is not the only vocal player, his presence is considered vital in creating a winning mentality and driving the squad on. The captain, Bruno Fernandes, is the on-field leader and leads by example.

Martínez has played only five times since 20 September and United hope he will be available consistently next season and be a key factor in a more successful campaign after this largely disappointing one.
