Default Bruno

A good player Just not good enough for any team that wants to be champions.

Too self indulgent, too wasteful. Not enough awareness of what’s around him. Needs the team to be built around him and ours isn’t. Backed ourselves into a corner as he’s the skipper but I’d have given mount a go in his role. Not as Hollywood but likely more productive and would make us more solid.

Not a reaction to today when I didn’t see him find a red shirt second half.

He was fantastic first half.

Surprisingly, getting shunted out wide to accommodate other players, he then went to bits.

No other team would treat their best player the way we do with him tbh

You say that but the biggest issue we have is scoring goals . And he’s out creative hub/go to man.

And well, it’s not good enough.

Creates so many chances. Would help if we had someone who could finish them.

This.

We’re desperate for a striker.

If Bruno is the biggest problem, we'll be alright.

would help if he'd headed in the one shaw put on a plate for him. or brought it down and side-footed it in.

our problem in the first half was not taking chances, though. true enough.

sticking him out on the right was nonsense, though. either play him in the middle or sub him. should have had pellistri on earlier.

He’s fine when we’re going well but he’s awful when the game is going against us

Lacks game intelligence to realise he needs to help us gain control again and stabilise after a difficult period but instead he gets more desperate and ragged with his play

He’s a liability off the ball as opposition players get past him far too easily

He’s not the biggest issue but he clearly is an issue in these difficult away games

ETH needs to get a grip of him because that 2nd half was unacceptable from our leader

He was indeed very good first half, which is what made his being so shit in second half such a concern.

But it isn’t a shock. He does this.

His output and ability isn’t in question. He’s hands down our best post-Fergie signing and he’s crucial to us and the best things we do….but there’s aspects to his game that damage us and one is completely falling to bits in some of these away games against big teams once we lose control of the game.

When things get chaotic and we lose our composure and intelligence in big games, he’s very much part of that problem.

We can acknowledge his shortcomings while also recognising there are bigger problems.

Frustrating because he's such a strong indicator of how we're playing. Makes us tick like nobody else, but when he has a meltdown like at Liverpool the whole team suffers. He lost his shit when the penalty call went against us today and we fell to bits around the same time.

We've got far bigger problems than him, sometimes he's the best thing about us. But not today.

This exactly. Away from home and/or against the top sides at home he’s a problem. Not our biggest perhaps but definitely a problem.

He shouldn’t be our captain

Who should?

Lack of suitable contenders is pretty damning.

I'd imagine who should be captain has been a big topic in the changing room after the game.

He’s not a leader, doesn’t influence his team never mind the game, just £#%&!ing moans. Take it off him and let him look after his own performance.

Martinez for me.
