Ticketless fans found burrowing with their bare hands



Schalke's sporting director Horst Heldt has confirmed that a group of ticketless Galatasaray fans were caught trying to burrow into their stadium using their bare hands ahead of Tuesday's Champions League match.

With the away section heavily oversubscribed and tickets trading hands at prices of up to €1,000 before kick-off, the group resorted to desperate measures, trying to dig through frozen ground under a perimeter fence.

Heldt confirmed the incident before the game, which ended with a 4-3 aggregate victory for the Turkish club, saying: "Yes, that's right. Some supporters have tried to dig a tunnel with their bare hands."

The passion of their fans is insane tbh. Went to our game over there earlier this season and the atmosphere they created was incredible. Even the lads in exec boxes would join in with the chants/abuse etc. Brilliant.

Galatasaray fans are amazing. The atmosphere on their ground is second to none.

They also seem slightly stupid, though.

CCTV footage has been released by Turkish TV channel Beyaz after a gang of around 30 to 40 Galatasaray fans went on the attack after the channel’s pundits backed Real Madrid to win the Champions League quarterfinal tie.
The grainy CCTV footage recorded an angry mob being confronted by Beyaz TV’s security guards outside the channel’s headquarters.
The punch-up was brutal, with sticks, stones and other missiles all used in the violent scenes.

phenomenal support, but when it comes to tunnelling in Germany they're complete lightweights ! :shakehead:

For a start you don't just dig one tunnel you dig three.. "Murat", "Mehmet", and "Mustafa" !!

When Jerry discovers Murat you switch full operations to Mehmet and Mustafa. With enough planning and covert dispersion of soil on Schalke's pitch, job's a good 'un. What's more... just think how much earth you could hide in those baggy silk turkish pantaloons ?!!!

They're £#%&!ing lunatics & at the risk of sounding like Richard Littlejohn or Stan Collymore, English Clubs would be thrown out of Europe for that kind of behaviour.

...but I hope they £#%&!ing beat Madrid tonight.
