Default Gallas being a big baby again

Refusing to speak to the press because Evra was made captain...

Arsenal defender unhappy at United star's international promotion

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal defender William Gallas is enraged by Raymond Domench’s decision to hand Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra the captaincy, and as a result will not be talking to the press for the duration of the World Cup finals.

The Daily Mail claim Gallas, who is yet to commit his future to Arsenal despite Arsene Wenger’s offer of a new one-year deal, was hopeful he would take over the armband following Domench’s decision to use Thierry Henry as a substitute. Instead Manchester United star Patrice Evra was named as the Arsenal legend’s replacement for the France captaincy.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has given Patrice Evra the captaincy on numerous occasions this season in the absence of Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, and Rio Ferdinand but the aforementioned Arsenal stalwart is by far the more experienced of the two French internationals with 80 caps to his name. Evra has been capped on 27 occasions but has been favoured over the Emirates star as Henry's replacement.

The Mail claim Gallas will boycott the media for the whole tournament due to his dissatisfaction at being overlooked.

Team spokesman Francois Manardo told the media: "William has decided not to speak to the media for the duration of the World Cup,"

Gallas was famously relinquished of the Arsenal captaincy midway through the 2008-2009 season and was replaced by Cesc Fabregas, after he criticised some of the club’s younger players for showing a lack of courage.

What a gargantuan pillock!

Nice to see Evra getting some recognition. Not long ago he was playing second fiddle to the vastly inferior Abidal.

Paddy or Stevie GBH to lift the World Cup. I know which one I'd rather see....

I think I''ll probably support France now, given that Evra is captain.

Love the little man

4 WC's for Henry, that's pretty impressive, 2 Finals in that time too. Is the record 5 WC's?

Nasri says he's an outcast in the dressing room and nearly everyone hates him. You could see that even 2 yrs ago in that clip, pathetic attempt of trying to be a captain, incredibly rehearsed.

They won that game didn't they? Chelsea went 1 up, Van Persie scored 2. Is that the game? If so, top captain!!
