I really don't think Arshavin is a flash in the pan. I remember speaking to someone who follows Russian football maybe 18 months ago, and he said that Arshavin was easily the most talented player in the league. He even said that I should try to watch a Zenit match if I could, just to see the lad play. And I believe that Hiddink has said that he's the cleverest he's ever worked with, which is quite a compliment when you consider the players that he's coached.

Was excellent when I watched him play for Zenit in the UEFA Cup too - absolutely took Leverkusen apart in the quarters, and was very good in the first leg against Bayern in the semis as well. Interesting playing style, in many ways he seems to to play more like an Argentine number 10 than a Russian. Definitely a very good football player.
