Default Guardian: Liverpool played some of the best attacking football ever seen in English football

Quote:
This, after all, has still been a season of considerable achievement for Liverpool: they have qualified for the Champions League, they have restored their pride and they have played some of the best attacking football ever seen in English football.

Really?

Certainly in the top 600. When you compare 600 compared to a much larger number you can see where he's coming from

In fairness they have played some great attacking football this season and will score over 100 league goals which is something we haven't done since the 50s

It's one of the reasons why them winning it this year would have been so hard to take as they would have done it with a much smaller budget than their title rivals while playing fantastic attacking football

Let's face it they have played better attacking football this season than we have done in a number of years

Thankfully they will end the season £#%&! all to show for it

the three front players have combined well and are tricky, it will be very different next year when coaches work out how to counter them and deny them space.

they have played some good football but describing them as one of the best attacking sides, ever, is just another reminder how mawkish and hyperactive the reaction to them winning the league would be.

Sure they've played bold attacking football

But Brenton forgot to coach the defence

Desperate stuff from the scousers. File alongside ‘moral champions’ and their ‘great side of 2009’ that won nothing.

City better not £#%&! this up

it would be rather small to deny they have played some good attacking football at times, but the standard of the league currently is shite.

at least brenton only forgot to coach the defence and not the whole £#%&!ing team.

It really, really is. 2 teams scoring over 100 goals, when has that ever happened?

It makes United's season all the more infuriating tbh.

Well they won't have to worry about Suarez for starters.

Yes what an amazing feat by the vermin, attacking teams from the start with pace. Anyone would think they didn't have any european games to play this season.

Yes they've played a massive 41 games this season in all competitions. 4 games a month.

We've played 54 games this season. City have played 56 and Chelsea have also played 54 games.

Compare that to United's 2008/09 campaign where we played 65 games in total and still managed to win the league as well as reach another Champions league final.

The best attacking teams combine it with decent defending. They've conceded a £#%&! load this season.
