if you have SKY do you need the phone line in for it to update I assume? When I had it installed they didn't drill through the wall for the phone socket as I rent & couldn't be arsed with the fall out - the phone line can be wacked in easily enough though - system update or something ?

You shouldn't. You only need the phone line for box office and interactive stuff. I added MUTV and it didn't need the phone line connected.

don't need phone line mate as updates come through your receiver. there is a way of doing it and i'm £#%&!ed if i can remember. something like holding in the OK button on your box and turning off at the wall. keep hold of the button for 30 seconds and then turn back on at the wall. i am pretty sure that is it.
