Ferguson and Evra between them have spoke openly and specifically about what happened last season. Ferguson is exactly right, United's record at Wigan and our form going into that game was such that it was a major surprise that we didn't at least equalise (and let's face it, we had 2 blatant penalties turned down that would have rescued the game in a similar way to what happened say at Blackburn with the Hernandez penalty - or even with the injury time Tevez leveller a few years back); being 4-2 up at home to Everton going on 6 or 7, there is no-one who could honestly have expected us not to win the game from that position despite how well Everton were playing... Evra was exactly right earlier in the season when he spoke of how ignoring City was the best way, because last season we all - players and fans - got wrapped up in the idea that we could go to City and lose cus we only needed 2pts from Wigan and Everton, only to find that by the time we went there we couldn't afford to lose; he basically admitted that the closing stages of that Everton game when United bottled it were brought on by the fear of throwing that lead away and not being able to lose at City any more if it happened...
