Season Tickets - have you, will you, etc?

The ultimate in devaluing the club - don't go.

How many on here have had STs and gave them up when the Glazers first arrived?
How many will not renew now there's a bit of momentum gathering again?
How many will cave in and carry on with their renewal?
How many didn't have one and will snidily pick one up if available?

originally, no one would have had to boycott (banged on about it enough.... zorgesque, in fact).

but... if everyone had boycotted.... originally.... the glazers would be long gone and we would currently rule the football world.

worth considering.

Unless everyone does the individual decision gets lost in the crowd, others step in, and absolutely futile

If one game is picked where 0pc of paid tickets turn up (percentage chance of this 0pc) would be much higher impact than season ticket sales down 25pc

Both the above sentences disgust me in terms of sentence structure.

which is precisely why, prior to the takeover, this was acknowledged. boycotting is simply self-harming, if no one else does it. and that is why it was suggested that it would be better to have people sign up to the idea of boycotting, but only to threaten to do it once a certain threshold had been reached.

no one would have had to do more than a click on the internet and with no risk of losing their st pointlessly.

I remember vividly you saging the whole thing in 05. Didn't we start off well with sponsor harassment, getting deutche bank to pull out of financing? You have my vote to steer us through this time.

Gave my lmtb up when they came in. Think i've set foot in the ground 7 or 8 times since.

Can vaguely remember the protest before the Arsenal game and the flashmobbing of certain stores with brollies. must have been a pain in the arse scraping them stickers off the plod vehicles.

The issue with not renewing is that it means different things to different people. For Jem, arguing to not renew a season ticket he’s never owned whilst only ever attending a couple of times a year meant that his sacrifice in 2005 was negligible. And his and others messaging at the time was unhelpful because it was so easily ridiculed. For many others, including some of my mates, who hadn’t missed a home or away match for well over a decade, not renewing meant considerably more.

For them, the ownership is and will always be secondary to supporting the team - as it was for all of us when we became first united supporters. I didn’t say to myself, hang on I’m not becoming a united fan because edwards is a toss pot.

The best route back then was supporter shareholding but M&M held control over that and it became quickly apparent that too few united fans could be arsed spending £10 on a single share and that was that £#%&!ed.

It was at that point that I gave up being as arsed about the club.
