I would be very surprised if Cardiff had an insurance policy in place that quick covering his death - especially one which covered an aircraft death.

I don't think you can sign a player without one. That amount of money will defo have one on him.

This.

Cardiff say he sorted out his own transport.

I struggle to believe a player would be able to charter his own plane and hire a pilot let alone a plane he thought looked dangerous.

Or Cardiff put his agent in n touch with Big Willie, who has a plane, and they just decided to get him to sort it out.

Cardiff City though - spend £18m on a player and can't even be arsed to sort him out a decent flight.

He took the flight on his own decision didn't he ? Did Cardiff even know he was planning to travel ?

I would ask him mate but he's at the bottom of the sea somewhere.

Cardiff say he made his own arrangements - again which is odd.

You can't fly from Cardiff to Nantes apparently, they sorted a commercial flight to Paris & then it's a 5hr drive. Not something you can realistically do if you are supposed to be back for training the next day so not surprised he made his own arrangements.

Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of players take light aircraft to France for short breaks, the planes go everyday but somehow he's on a flight that had a couple of aborted takeoffs & by his own definition was "falling apart". £#%&!ed if I would have chanced it.

Did they know he was going back to France? And if so, maybe they assumed he was going via ferry or commercial airline?

Yeah don't scrimp when it comes to planes.

You can make better savings elsewhere imo.

Air France Nantes to Paris and then Flybe Paris to Cardiff. It's a relatively straightforward journey. There was no need to get on such a shitty plane.

He wasn't travelling on club business so it's unlikely the club organised it. His agent probably sorted it and got the cheapest plane he could. You don't make much money booking a normal flight for someone, sort out a private jet and there's a nice little commission on it.
