He was but since he seems to have developed an affinity for the club as well as a good understanding of fan issues not just at United but more generally within football. He seemingly has great contacts both at the club and with the fanzines and may as well be Hugh McIlvanney next to the toothless tramp with the sentence structure of a fourteen year old that followed him.

That Stone genuinely thinks of himself as a journalistic titan. Every word carefully enunciated with appropriate pauses, so nobody misses the importance of what he has to say. I know they're all mongs but he is on another level.
