Jonny Evans has been quite brilliant: the best centre‑half at the Albion in my memory. And that’s over 40 years’ worth of centre-halves.

Tom Cleverley has been terrific since his January arrival

i am amused by the incongruity of these with the general consensus on here

guess there are second acts in premiership life.

Jonny Evans was a good player who just lost his way a little bit.
He had a decent & successful career at United.

Cleverley was a bit of a tart, but again he was a good player who didn't live up to his early promise.
The whole 'brand' thing made him look a bigger dick than what he probably is tbf

the 'general consensus' on here is odd at times re; United players past & present.

Evans looked brilliant at the start of his United career but lost his way and became a bit of a tart.

Cleverley was always a total nothing player.

Always rated Jonny Evans tbh, injuries and a bit of loss of form skewed the view of him, then he got blamed for everything and tons of shit on here, mainly because he is homegrown. Happens to everyone that comes through the ranks for some reason.

seems that way.

The whole 'shit@#%&!s' thing - 'Fletcher, Nani, Valencia, Young, Cleverley, Welbeck, Evans, Rooney, Anderson, Park' etc.. as you say, lots of players who came through the Club ranks.
Those post-Ronaldo 'shit@#%&!s' reached European Cup Finals, won 2 Premier League titles & played some £#%&!ing great Football imo (only losing out on 4 titles in a row because of goal difference & 1 £#%&!ing point)

Even now with our 1mph sideways team it's Rooney, Young, Smalling, Jones, Rashford who get the majority of the abuse

There are only a few teams in the prem that don't have ex utd/academy players and from what I see they pretty much all do well. Fine line being good enough for utd and being a good prem pro.

Fletch and Evans have done brilliant at wba.

Fabio Da Silva is being appreciated at Boro. Always had a lot of love for both of the twins. Gutted they couldn't have stayed and both been part of our squad for the whole of their careers.

Boredom and apathy plays a part surely? I think that is partly why so many bought into the LVG insanity of dumping all our squad players for peanuts and replacing them with mostly inferior players at huge expense.

Inferior, but new, with sexy transfer fees and nicknames.

only laughable mongs are slating any of those players.

Every player I listed has made a contribution to United & has been a part of some excellent United sides & results.

There are certain types of players that you can't criticise. Untouchable, style over substance players for the X-Box generation.

The Everton fan called Schneiderlin world class

Really does show the difference in pressure and scrutiny at the biggest clubs, even though it's just a few places higher in the league.

totally agree - the idea we needed a mass clear out of fergie's title-winning squad was ridiculous. i reckon this has been more than proven by events.

nonsense. some of them have been wage thieves, some have been very £#%&!ing hard to support, some have been unbearable to watch, some clearly represent us standing still as a team (hence us going backwards)...

but rashford is a brilliant and exciting young kid coming through the ranks. bit surprised you can't see the difference tbh

Evans was a softer version of Wes Brown but more liable the days he wasn't paying attention.

Much better player than Phil Jones a dive said that for 4-5 years.
