Default Garth Crooks slates Herrera

Sticks him in his team of the week, then hits him with this absolute snide bomb.

Quote:
Herrera is very fortunate to have such an accommodating captain as Wayne Rooney, who has waited patiently for him and other new arrivals to come to terms with Louis van Gaal's new system, often to Rooney's detriment.

The guy was basically captain on the field v everton. Even tonight neville showed a clip where he's telling everyone what to do. He was absolutely essential in that game and the missing link between one paced passing it about aimlessly and incisive exciting football.

I think lvg has been extra harsh with him because he really rates him.

Garth Crooks is one of the biggest #@&%!s in football media.

His 'team of the week' is laughable. He just picks the players who scored.

But he's the England top scorer, or nearly, or something. And that's about as close as England are going to get to celebrating anything for the next 30 years or so.

Rooney is doing a G Nev but neither he nor LVG have the good grace or humility to admit it.

Herrera was outstanding at Goodison, but so too was Smalling. Both performances have to be down to LvG and particularly the latter. What a transformation.

oh look the one man Rooney fan club has turned up. You've got about as much clarity of vision as Stevie wonder when it comes to Rooney these days.

Don't want to turn this into another Rooney hatefest ta lads.

But even the biggest Wazza fan can recognise that is complete and utter nonsense. I'm tempted to email a complaint tbh

I hate the way crooks on tv sounds like a police constabulary filing his report.

I think what's happened is herrera unburdened both mata and rooney of having to do stuff they aren't natural at doing. It's no criticism of roons nor mata but a compliment to herrera.

Crooks is a #@&%!, but his general point about Rooney is a good one.
Rooney is a selfless player. He is a team player & he's very popular with the lads & the manager.
He's very important to us building another decent side. Anybody who can't see this is obviously a bit simple.

Can't wait for Rooney to break the record ..14 to go isn't it?
Can see another half dozen or so between now & Christmas. Hopefully break the record during the run-in.

Thought Rooney had his best game of the season. He went off the boil for 15 minutes and the knives came out.

he certainly is mate.

You ask Herrera, Martial, Schweiny & co if they want Wazza in the team or not. I can 100% guarantee you they all do.

Looking forward to this team delivering a trophy & Rooney becoming top scorer come May
