He may be a bit daft but Harry Redknapp is a likeable person.

Id agree with that. Hes a 'character' that's for sure.

Jamie Redknapp reminds me more of him every day.

Didn't the tax case reveal him to be effectively illiterate?

That, indeed, was what I was getting at. And I doubt if Jamie is much better in that regard, given his media appearances

We'll ya see everyone gets conned at the end of the day. That brown envelope and Zeki Fryers going Belgium may be frowned upon but it has nothing on what that pot collector did to me.

Up there with that evil £#%&!ing bustard Boris Johnson in the has got Ginners fooled stakes.

Merson really is thick as pigshit. In his book he says that when he was 16 and got his first paypacket, he went and immediately blew it all in a bookies. He didn't want to tell his parents, so he pretended that he'd been mugged and smashed his face repeatedly against a wall to make it look convincing.

He told another story about when he and Gazza were living together at Boro. They played a game where they took it in turns to take a shot of vodka and a sleeping tablet, and the winner was the one that stayed conscious.

I wonder which year he stopped doing this.
