Default Realistic January 2023 Targets

For the first time in a very long while, the manager seems to be imposing himself properly on the team. He needs to be backed .

Assuming we can sign players with the ownership change (and even if we can’t and have to loan to buy etc etc ) who does everyone realistically think we can get in Jan?

Mitrovic, paulinha from Fulham look like decent buys . Toney would have been a good shout before his issues with betting.

He has been backed. We spent a lot of money in the summer.

A striker isn't going to happen. The glazers aren't going to sanction anything whilst we're in the process of being sold.

We might bring in a forward on loan, but more than that may be optimistic.

I think we’ll sort some desperate Ighalo-type loan.

Probably Ighalo.

Realistically we're stuck until the owners change, simple as that, really.

Not getting a striker is a small price to pay to get them out.

I’m happy with Erik and the trajectory of the set up. We’ve got several squad issues that won’t be sorted overnight. Raising the standard and laying the foundations this season.

Morata with no option to buy.

Or Griezmann as a wildcard.

Morata isn’t gonna come here after the way we treated him a few years ago

By signing that donkey Lukaku?

Players have short memories. He's be here in a heartbeat.

Just a striker on loan.

No way will major transfers be sanctioned pre sale.

SAF wanted Mick Harford in the Jan window didn’t he? We’d really benefit from a modern version of him. We are too lightweight up there (points towards goal) and a bit of Macho Manly Madness up there would help a lot.

If Maguire pushes for a move then a lot of opportunities will open.

He won’t. The fat headed dullard will want to ‘fight’ for his place.

How much do you think we could get for him?

50-60 million given there would be a few different clubs in for him. I'd say Newcastle would be interested. He had a good world cup and would fit in with their "project."

Not an awful lot on a straight 6 month loan basis I wouldn’t have thought.
