XCOM 2
Bought this on a whim on sale: glad I did Strategic/Tactical sci-fi turn-based thingy. Take a squad of 4 to 6 marines into battle against aliens (rescue scientists/blow up facilities/stop civis being slaughtered type missions) In between the missions, you have to improve/manage your HQ ship and strike a balance between: providing power, researching new tech, healing/training your squad, whilst contacting the resistance around the globe Proper hard and unforgiving, with some right dirty tactics, and it doesn't give you a moments peace... but I cannot stop playing it ![]() |

Ghosts n' Goblins Resurrection.
Jesus f***ing Christ, I read about it being difficult but this is just straight up pixel perfect nonsense with enemies and projectiles coming at you from all corners of the screen. Absolutely no margin for error throughout, I don't know how people enjoy games like this. Pissed fifteen quid away on it through Steam, fortunately it was reduced from thirty. Refund requested regardless ![]() It's this kind of shit throughout but with more going on. f*** off. ![]() |

^ Got my refund for that shite and bought Forza Horizon 4. I thought racing games were supposed to be fun, f***ing thing is like going for a quick drive being careful not to have a few bumps or scrapes. Awful game, boring as f***. And it wants me to go to a music festival and influence people. A racer for 'modern audiences' I guess.
Another refund requested ![]() ![]() |

Third time lucky hopefully, Days Gone? Know nothing about it, one of the last major 1st party PS4 games. Not overly keen on the OTS camera and combat is pretty basic too, having to check every area for stuff to salvage is a bit if a nuisance but production values seem quite high. I'm a little intrigued by the story so I might keep going, maybe.

f***ed Days Gone off. Can't be arsed, replaying the original Splinter Cell. What a brilliant game, it absolutely shits all over the other biggie of the time, Metal Gear Solid 2. It's just so atmospheric. Rarely has hiding in bushes and cupboards been so exhilarating , and I speak as someone with vast real world experience of that. It nails the tension, anticipation and excitement.
I know there is a remake scheduled but this is one game that could really do with a ray tracing mod. Would look incredible. ![]() |

Playing it on pc/steam. Just checked and its a fiver in Catholic money on gog.com, or cheaper 'elsewhere'...
You could download the ps2 version and emulate it through pcsx2 either. The original Xbox version was the best, bought the console just for it, think I only ever got Crazy Taxi 3 (and never played it) afterwards. f***ing madness the money I've pissed away over the years on gaming. |
