Found two tiny caterpillars in my cabbage

...as i was washing it. Each leaf was full of holes, like the Hungry Caterpillar book.

No idea how they survived tbh, because I keep veg in the fridge.

Anyway, I binned it. The cabbage, not the fridge.

Am I being too squeamish? Should I have accepted their protein donation to my diet?

What would you have done?

Sounds more like an infestation of cabbage mites.

I would have rang the rspca and had them call out to collect them in the hope of finding them their forever homes.

Wouldn't have binned the whole thing. Just cut out around the chomped bits, but to be honest even that is likely an overreaction.

They sound like a close relation to facehuggers. Im setting fire to the bin

Yep, the butterflies (specifically the white ones) are always landing on our kale and brassicas trying to lay their eggs.

Well, it's an aphid, not a mite, but that might just be a language thing
