Default Tories 2022

Latest on the Rwanda plan:

Also, one of the clauses says that we must take their refugees so is it just an expensive refugee exchange programme that benefits nobody but is good optics for their voter base?

The Good Friday Agreement expressly requires the UK to have the ECHR directly enforceable in Northern Ireland.

Ergo, the UK cannot leave the ECHR without breaking the Good Friday Agreement.

Not that the Tories will care for one second, of course. Agreements are for everyone else - Britain can do what it wants.

They really are pandering to the lowest common denominator now aren't they? They have basically become UKIP in a desperate attempt to hold on to power. The really depressing thing is there may well be enough people in this country that this sort of bullshit will appeal to for it to work.

Probably not, but imagine it doesn't matter to whatever games they're playing. According to David Allen Green, the Protocol Bill contains weird meaningless clauses suggesting they're not really serious about it.

I fully expect to see the Tory press deliberately refer to the ECHR as something to do with the EU, to mislead their readers.

Trade war with Europe - brewing nicely.
Trade war with the US - break the GFA & that's a very real possibility.

The entire world is on its arse & these c***s seem intent on pushing this country even further under.

Labour MP's and candidates should be condemning this awful scheme.

They've been doing that for years.

Anyone with a shred of humanity should be condemning it.

Absolutely correct.

We NEED immigration, and like it or not, an open door policy is one of the best ways we can begin to press down on inflation which is going to be a huge issue over the next few years.

This isn't about immigration, this is about asylum, refugees from conflict or oppression. It doesn't matter what they can bring to the UK, it's only about what they are leaving behind.

Yes.

Of course.

But if they are nearly all fit, young, healthy males then it would be insane not to welcome them in to the workforce as soon as they arrive.
