Running 2 miles per day in February

As many of you know, I lost my lovely wife Lindsey last year to cancer.

Myself & daughter have signed up for Cancer research's 'Run 56 miles challenge' which means dragging my old bones around the mean streets of North Leeds for a couple of miles each day in Feb.

I realise I don't know many of you IRL, and times are tough, but if anyone feels like they want to, and can contribute it would be hugely appreciated, together maybe we can eventually make the 'cancer is a c***' thread redundant.

Day 11 of 28 done, today was the first day me & daughter (no) have run together, I think so far we've been lucky with the weather for February, I realise I have probably just jinxed that in true Fred style.

Today was cold, bright & crisp.






My times were pitiful to start with, and still are, but knocked a lot off them in the first 11 days, the next Olympics still look unlikely though.

We are around the £3k mark now in terms of what we have raised for Cancer Research, which we are really amazed and thrilled with.

Having played a lot of football, cricket, rugby over the years my knees are a bit clunky, after about 30 seconds of running they are going 'WTF are you doing?' repeatedly, fortunatley then due to my lack of fitness, the pain, panic and suffering spreads to the rest of my body and distracts me from me knees, and it's a case of plodding on. As I say, it aint quick.

I had a 12 hour, empty stomach, drinking session from 3pm Saturday to circa 3am Sunday, so yesterday's 'run' having probably consumed more booze in the preceding day than i had the rest of the preceeding year, was absolutely pitiful, I could have cried, it felt like an enternity.

Glad to get it finished today as my right knee had been aching away for the last few days, but generally feeling fitter & better for it, and we've raised over £3k for Cancer Research between me & daughter.
